Cohort 6 Kickoff: Summer 2025

Cohort 5 is full, but we welcome you to early apply for our next cohort kicking off this Summer
Hey everyone,

Marco & Skander here.

Making a career shift into the climate sector in today’s market is hard.

It’s impossible to find where to start, you keep hearing that you’re “lacking the right experience”, you don’t know anyone who can help, and most companies people don’t ever get back to your perfectly crafted cover letter.

It sucks. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

We’ve been there ourselves. We remember when you could call a few insiders, have an honest conversation, and know whether a role was right. All before burning 100+ hours on applications.
Somewhere along the way, that common-sense path disappeared.

Here’s what hasn’t changed:
- You already bring serious skills: producing results, running budgets, leading teams.
- Climate companies urgently need those skills to scale solutions that actually move the needle.

What’s missing is a bridge. So we built one.

The Climate Drift Accelerator shows you the real problems climate companies are facing, surrounds you with people who’ve done this before, and gives you proof of work you can hand to a hiring manager tomorrow.

No fluff, no gate-keeping, just eight weeks of focused action that turns “I want in” into “I’m already contributing.”

If you’re ready to put your experience where it matters most, we’re ready to clear the path.

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of the Climate Drift Accelerator, you will have:

Deep knowledge of climate tech sectors:

Get up to speed on the inner workings of 8 climate solution areas: from Energy and Transportation to Circular Economy, Food & Ag, Carbon Removal and more.
You’ll discover where the real opportunities (and challenges) are and pinpoint which niche aligns with your passion and skills.

Demonstrated experience applying your skills to challenges:
No more “you need [insert sector here] experience to get [insert sector here] experience” Catch-22. You’ll work on real challenges, using your transferable skills to solve problems and deliver value.
These aren’t hypothetical case studies, they're projects you can proudly showcase in your portfolio and talk about in interviews.

✈️ Jonathan spent 15 years leading operations and partnerships, most recently as Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Gates Foundation. He dove into Sustainable Aviation Fuels, published the 25-page SAF Solution Framework, and now serves as Director of Renewable Fuels at Earth Finance.

🏠 Tessa joined Climate Drift as the Chief of Staff of a carbon free cement company, dove deep into the cement  space and offsets and is now building her own company of the Built Environment space.

🐄 Barrett, a product leader with 15 years of experience, researched and authored guide on Enteric Methane. He now leads enteric methane mitigation projects as a Project Manager at Spark Climate.

A network of climate decision-makers:

Throughout the program you’ll connect with industry insiders. From startup founders and seasoned climate operators to  investors and policy experts. Talk with them during our live sessions and join as a panelist at an Open Climate roundtable (after you publish a challenge), and you’ll find doors opening to informational calls, referrals, and maybe even job offers. Plus, you’ll bond with a cohort of peers equally passionate about climate.

Personalized career strategy & job search clarity:
We dive deep into career strategy: helping you perfect your personal pitch, translate your past experience into a climate context, target the right organizations, and navigate interviews/offers. Through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and continuous feedback, you’ll finish with a clear roadmap for your climate job search (and the confidence to execute it).

Who should apply
This accelerator is not for everyone and that’s by design. We intentionally keep the cohorts small and select participants who are driven to make the most of the experience.

You should consider applying if you are:
- 5+ years’ experience in any discipline: product, ops, finance, policy, marketing, engineering.

- Learner’s mindset & bias for action. You’re here to do, not just watch.

- Able to commit time and energy for 8 weeks. That means roughly 5-10 hours per week for live sessions, project work, and networking. (Yes, you can do this alongside a full-time job, but you’ll need to manage your schedule and stay engaged. We promise it’s worth it.)

- Community spirit. You give as much help as you ask for.

We cap cohorts at fifty people so you can’t disappear into the back row. And because we interview every candidate, the room is full of peers who can match your intensity.

One third are already in climate and want to level up; one third know the niche they’re chasing; one third arrive wide-eyed and leave obsessed with something they’d never considered.
Does It Actually Work? (Spoiler: Yes)

We know results matter. The Climate Drift Accelerator has already helped four cohorts of mid-career professionals make the leap into climate.

Our last cohort of 60 members gave the program a Net Promoter Score of 64 (that’s higher than Apple’s!) and a 4.7 out of 5 satisfaction rating. More importantly, our alumni are landing climate jobs. They’re now working on projects like electrifying homes and businesses, deploying heavy-duty e-cargo bikes for city deliveries, scaling sustainable aviation fuels, and more.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what some of our graduates have to say about their experience:

We ask for anonymous feedback every week so we can keep tuning the program as we go. Here’s what people have been saying:

“This is truly like no cohort out there! (I've done a few). The intimate community setting and amazing, intelligent speakers are unmatched.”
“I’ve already gotten tremendous value out of the course; specifically the action-oriented nature of the course (learning + doing, not just learning) and the orientation towards landing a career in climate and HOW to do it”
”I learned SO MUCH and feel 10x more equipped for my climate career goals than before.”
“10 out of 10: The content is in-depth and interesting, and gives the cohort opportunities to get involved by tackling challenges hands on (which in my opinion, is the best way to learn!)"
“This program has been a huge catalyst for getting unstuck in my career transition and job search.”

Okay, enough humble bragging. How do you get in?
Application Process

We cap each cohort size to maintain quality, so admission is selective but straightforward:

1. Online Application:
Fill out a brief application form (ten minutes, no essay). We ask about your background, why you want to work in climate, and what you hope to get out of the program. This helps us understand if we’re the right fit for you (and vice versa).
Apply Now
2. Interview:
If your application looks like a good fit, we’ll invite you to a 20-minute video call. This is a casual conversation, not an interrogation: we want to hear about your goals, answer your questions, and make sure you’re ready to commit to the program’s intensity.

3. Admission & Enrollment:
Twenty-four hours later you have a yes or a polite not-yet. Say yes, and we drop you into the community immediately so you can start trading ideas with past cohorts while the countdown to week one begins.

We run a few cohorts per year. Applications are open now for our upcoming cohort (starting soon), and we review applications on a rolling basis. So the earlier you apply, the better your chance of securing a spot. Don’t wait until the last minute – spots can fill up quickly (we literally had people grabbing seats for the next cohort before the current one even finished!).
Tuition and Scholarships

We believe in charging enough to ensure commitment, but not so much as to create a barrier. The full value of this program is easily in the five-figures (think of it as an investment in a new career), but thanks to early supporters we’re able to offer significant discounts and scholarships.

Tuition: $2,000
That’s the base cost to join the program. It helps cover our team, tools, and community infrastructure, while keeping things accessible.

Scholarships available:
Money shouldn’t be the reason you don’t pursue a climate career. We have over $250,000 in scholarship funds donated by folks who believe in our mission. Scholarships are awarded based on factors like your background, diversity, location, and personal circumstances. If you’re motivated to join but concerned about the cost, please apply anyway and let us know. We’re committed to making it work if you’re a great candidate.

Payment and Sponsorship:
If you’re currently employed, consider asking your employer to sponsor your participation as professional development . We’ve seen some companies happily invest in their employees’ growth (especially when it aligns with sustainability goals). We can provide documentation to help make the case. And if you’re between jobs, think of this as investing in yourself. Our goal is to get you into a high-impact climate role without financial strain.
